How: create your own wiki to MediaWiki

If you want to start your own wiki, but don't know how this guide explain step what to do step is.

You need: a Web things is hosting on a server computer with an Internet connection

   Do a search for "Download MediaWiki."

Click the link of the first and the next page, download the latest MediaWiki software forth.

Unpack you the software.

The software will be in one. tar.gz format. If you not unpack it, and then gzip downloading if you are using Windows.

Download all files uncompressed on your hosted server account ago.

Create a new MySQL database on the server.

In General, you can do this by configuring the Panel hosted account. Make sure that you add a user name and password for the newly created database.

Go to www.yourdomain.com/wiki.

Here you can complete the configuration information. Create an administrator user name and password (this is called usually WikiSysop). The name of the database, the user name and password from step 4 in the section add configuration database.

Select the other options the and click the button "install MediaWiki" configuration.

You should see a message "successful setup."
